If you are 70+ years old, this is the place for you. If you prefer the early bird special before 5:00 PM, then this is the place for you. Quality of food was average, service was good, plenty of food choices, including appetizers and desserts. Very large, well established restaurant that focuses on seafood. Has a bar and private party room. Lots of tables that seat 6 people which is a benefit. Not likely to return.

Went here for lunch with some friends, was pleasantly surprised with the service and the food! Our waiter was very helpful and pleasant which was a big plus. The Shrimp Casserole was tasty and the wifey loved her Fish and Chips which made her reminisce about her years spent across the Pond! We all had a good meal and will be back!

Do not go to this restaurant the food quality was terrible. Service was fine, but the prices were way too high. It was $18 for a fruit plate but when it arrived it had onions, tomato and cucumber mixed in. It was like an angry mental patient designed that culinary monstrosity. The fruit was old, dry, hard and not ripe. It was as if it was harvested a couple years ago and somehow preserved. The clincher for me was a simple thing like a bunch of grapes being served dirty, and mushy, Really? In fact I knew my opinion was vindicated when a patron next to me pointed out a truck backing up emitting that high pitch beeping noise in the loading dock of the restaurant delivering more food, but on the side of the truck it said "Not fit for human consumption".

Pleasant restaurant with good food emphasis on seafood at reasonable prices for a very elderly clientele. Easy parking and access which speaks to all and especially the very senior citizens. It's not a place for me or my wife just because of the atmosphere. If you have physical limitations and enjoy good seafood then I recommend.

I don't know what happened to snappers, but this time was horrible! Changed chefs? Nut bread tasteless bland mashed potatoes! Frozen key lime pie! The only thing we enjoyed was the coffee, house and Cesar salads. Will not returned and neither should you.

I completely blew out my colon eating this crap. We were served food with hair in it and I began to explode in my underpants... I left frreballing it embarrassed..

A group of five of us went to Snappers for dinner. We were surprised when we saw the gorgeous fish tank gone. The empty tables where customers were seated were not picked up. After we were seated, and ordered our food, we heard everyone complaining about the long wait for their food and the awful quality. People were walking out or going to the kitchen to complain. The waitress brought us our drinks, and bread. The bread which this place is known for was no longer being served. We sat for two hours watching this circus of irate customers when we finally got our order. The order was totally wrong, and not edible. Every dish was terrible. We sent everything back, all five dishes and walked out. It seemed to us that there was a total staff mutany, and the new owners were trying to cut costs. I have been going to Snappers for over 20 years. There are do many other good restaurants to go to in Del Rey. Goodbye Snappers. I have do many wonderful memories there.

This was my first time dining at snappers. I have no complaints. It was very good and I will visit again. They have a big selection.

I had THE WORST dining experience on Halloween night. It started off poorly and quickly spiraled downwardly out of control. We were happy to have missed the rush, it was about 7:30 and the place was full but we were seated immediately. Not that it mattered because we sat for a good 10 min before being acknowledged by our server. We ordered two iced teas and a dozen oysters on the half shell. The tea was warm and had a few floating, melted cubes in it. I asked for extra ice and it took a while to get it. The oysters were full of sand and were not fresh. I had a cup of NE Chowder, my guess is it's Outta the can. Next we had 2 mixed grills. Which had filet mignon which was not really filet, snapper and mahi that was rancid and smelled really bad. My friend ate his i sent mine back. The oysters went back too. I ate a cup of soup that night and a few rolls. The service was nearly non existent, the food took forever and it was 80% inedible. Not to mention the Golden Girls decor and color schemes.

Best bet for seafood in S FLA. Try the Ceder Planked Halibut. The best. It's like Veal Parm for my Italian best pick. Still Ceder plank the best!!!

We called in a reservation and were seated at the designated time. The wait otherwise looked formidable. The service was unfortunate. Cute young waitress forgot to bring our drinks, including water, for around 15 mins. When we got her attention and mentioned this lapse she gave us a look like Hannah Montana when her dad catches her doing something wrong. Or was that the Witches of Waverley Place giving THEIR dad an "oops, soorrry!" look? The food when it arrived was ok but not spectacular -- solid, standard preparations, nothing remarkable.

A must every time you're in the area. For a nice dinner, it's a great value given how delicious the food is and how classy the staff are. The menu offers a decent number of items. Forewarning: long waits, despite the expanded seating area (none of which is outside, though). This last vacation we noticed they take Open Table reservations - highly recommend.

Steve R's review hits the nail on the head! Whenever I visit my grandfather in Florida we always make it a priority to go to Snapper's. And clearly lots of other grandparents feel the same way because Sanpper's is bumping starting at 5 o'clock. On my last trip, we called for dinner reservations and the only times they could offer were 5:45 or 7:45. Hence, I found myself chowing down on clams on half shell (yum) and halibut (a-ok) just a couple hours after finishing lunch. Its the florida way! So word to the wise - don't show up without reservations! Seriously though, the food is pretty good. You get some yummy, buttery biscuits to nosh on and they serve nice big portions of sea food. It certainly isn't fine dining, but I wouldn't go so far as to equate it to Red Lobster. I wouldn't bring my hot date here (unless I was 70+), but it is a really nice place to gather with the older members of the family. the booths are comfortable, the waiters speak loudly and don't get huffy when they have to repeat themselves, and the price is right.

I stand corrected! Hubby has always been intrigued by this place since we moved to Boynton, but I successfully avoided it for 2.5 years on the grounds that the ugly red neon outdoor sign heralded nothing but bland-food-disappointment and geriatric customers... we enjoyed dinner there tonight, and although it is true they attract a "mature" crowd, the food was undeniably and surprisingly good! The bruschetta appetizer to start was very tasty - the classic tomato mixture was seasoned well.. I like my bruschetta on the drier side and this one had more liquid than I normally enjoy, but it was actually delicious! Combined with their texas-toast style baguette slices, it was a yummy and filling appetizer right off the bat. Next up were the mussels appetizer in marinara sauce + crab stuffed mushrooms together as my main course and I was super surprised at how delicious both were! The crab stuffed mushrooms were pretty average, my only complaint being that they were sitting in a layer of the melted butter at the bottom; what I would typically expect from a chain restaurant actually. The mussels were delightful - a HUGE bowl of mussels in a delicious marinara sauce chock-a-block full of finely chopped garlic you could see with the naked eye... but it wasn't overwhelming at all! Mussels were cooked perfectly, not overdone and chewy which so many restaurants fall victim to! The piece de resistance was surely my hubby's blackened scallops... again, cooked PERFECTLY, not overdone in the least so the texture was impressive, and the flavor hit ocean-sweetness perfection. The scallops sat on top of a spinach & goat cheese mixture stuffed into mushroom caps and a bed of what looked like wild rice. AMAZING! I'm not even normally a fan of goat cheese, but clearly it is in perfect balance to the spinach and scallops and was used for its creamy texture... they hit this one out of the park!! The décor leaves a bit to be desired (it's all pretty generic looking... perfect for geriatrics I guess), and the overall service maybe could use a bit of an update/new training... we had Ashley as our server and she was very nice... but I noticed as soon as we walked in that there was a table that still hadn't been bussed of its dirty dishes despite very few tables remaining that late at night (we walked in at 9pm on a weeknight off-season) and throughout dinner I noticed as a trend that as diners got up and left, dishes weren't bussed right away... it's just a personal pet peeve I guess... dirty dishes are an eye-sore to begin with, and then it makes me think that there doesn't seem to be a sense of urgency from the staff even when clearly the restaurant isn't busy... again, just a personal pet peeve that may not bother anyone else! Tammi who seemed like a new manager came over to talk to us as we were finishing up and after mentioning this was our first visit, correctly guessed that we had a coupon we wanted to use! I whipped out the $10 off $40 coupon from those generic Palm Beach County discount books that the kids sell these days for fundraising in school, and admitted that were it not for the coupon, I would have never agreed to give this place a chance! Tammi told us all about the happy hour specials, the sunset menu (AKA early-bird specials), and admitted in fact that the geriatric crowd does indeed make up a large part of the customer demographic... they are responsible for the around-the-block lines during high season... luckily for Snappers, it equals $2.8 million worth of business annually so clearly they are not hating on the older crowd anytime soon! :) In summary, it's a surprisingly tasty non-chain local spot! They bill themselves as the best seafood restaurant in Boynton (right now, it definitely feels more casual), and after learning from Tammi that the owner is a seafood distributor it makes sense that they get THE freshest seafood available. Snappers has a boatload of potential... with a few tweaks here and there (up the standard of service, get rid of some of the less popular items in order to concentrate more fully on developing some of the heavy hitting dishes like traditionally-popular crab stuffed mushrooms, update the décor/restaurant layout and slap on some brand-spanking new uniforms), they could easily increase their price points and draw in a younger crowd willing to spend more and more often since Snappers is literally one of only a handful of independent restaurants in the area. I know I would!! And REDESIGN THAT SIGN, dammit! They literally have one of the most visible locations on one of the busiest avenues in all of Boynton Beach and undoubtedly get tons of passersby traffic coming in... they should use that to their advantage! Their website is beautiful and appealing... I just can't get over that sign! Instead of screaming "just another strip mall", I wish the sign would scream their independent identity and delicious & fresh seafood!

It took an hour and twenty five minutes for our food to come out, and my husband's filet mignon was very dry. Judging by the other tables, there were some serious kitchen problems, and I assume that my filet was sitting under a heat lamp for a long time. It appears they misjudged the cook time on the rare filet and other items on the ticket, and it dried out at the pass. We asked for the manager and it took him fifteen minutes to come see us, which really is not a good sign! He actually dodged coming to see us until the food arrived, as I saw him keep looking over at our table and waiting. He said the most he can do is give us a free dessert. We never asked for anything. Seems like he's shell shocked by dealing with the condo commandos around here who always ask for something for free. We just wanted acknowledgement and an explanation. Mistakes happen everywhere, but I don't think the manager did very much towards making it right. It looks like there were several around us not having a good evening, so he was probably too fatigued to do much other than offer apologies on repeat. The decor is dated (think Golden Girls era) and even one of the glass dividers on a booth was shattered with exposed cut glass. It's too bad that I did enjoy my meal, which is why I am giving two stars. However, I won't return due to the service.

Happy Birthday to Me...Happy Birthday to Me...not so much. Well as you may have guessed my birthday was yesterday and my two sons wanted to take me to dinner. I love seafood and we had never been to Snappers so sounded like a nice birthday dinner. Needless to say that was NOT what we had for dinner. So folks, I can't vouch for the food as the service (not even sure if I can call anything there service) was non-existent. There was no wait at all. Seated immediately. Then nothing. No I'll be right with you, no water, no silverware, just nothing. For nearly 30 minutes!!! We kept waiting thinking someone would come and at least give us water. Nothing!!! Just a bunch of Senior citizens talking loudly and we just sat there thinking how does this even happen?? So we left. I let the manager know that this was very unacceptable and she said something to the fact that we should stay because she wants to feed us and if we drove anywhere, it would take us longer to eat. Hahaha! OMG. Ridiculous. We went a block down to Bonefish, 10 minute wait for a table, and immediate service. Do not even waste your time. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING.

The food was so very very good! The lobster bisque and crab stuffed mushrooms were amazing! I had the king crab legs which were also amazing! Come for the sunset menu and you will also save money! Great service as well!

Started with a Dirty Martini which was juuuuust right! The lobster/crab bisque was so thick and creamy with nice chunks of crab and lobster meat. I decided to go with the special, which was 1.5 lb lobster - YUM! Our server Lori was amazing since apparently I was dehydrated and had to have my water glass filled many times! Highly recommend!

This place was the star of the weekend trip. We went in based on the criteria of wanting pasta and seafood and a good rating and close to our hotel. With being less then a mile away and looking at the menu this place seemed to be on point. Now I will say it was like walking into a senior citizen early bird special dinner at 7:00, but after we got our food we didn't care. Get the stuffed mushrooms. We ordered 5 appetizers to start and everyone was not too sure about the mushrooms, except for me and these things were spot on. Fresh crab, nice and crunchy from the boiler. I could have eaten 5 orders of these things. We also had Clams Casino, Oyster Rockefeller, Yellow Fin Tuna Tartare, and steamed mussels in a white sauce. There is really no point in describing them all cause they were all very good. My preference would have the been the Mushrooms, Claims Casino, Mussels, Oyster, and Tuna. We also had Seafood Risotto and Cruncy Macadamia Crusty Snapper. The 1st course stuffed us, so we split these between the 4 of us. Both dishes were huge and so happy we split them. We didn't even finish them. Great place and will come back if I am ever in town again.

When I go to lunch here it's more low key and the food is usually good. We went to dinner here the other night on Tuesday 8/11/15. My mom had stuffed shrimp which she enjoyed. I ordered the Lobster Crab bisque with my meal and the soup was good. For dinner I had macadamia encrusted Snapper and a baked potato which had no taste, none. The baked potato was dried out. I would have said something but my daughter was experiencing her own distress with her food. She ordered broiled flounder which appeared fried with panko on top. It was cooked too long and rubbery. The waitress did offer to bring it back but said daughter refused. Well she shouldn't have refused. Plates from soup and bread were not cleared off the table leaving it overcrowded so her food fell on her lap when she reached over to get something (ruining her dress) Now when she finally got up the nerve to say something the waitress had to get the manager because they said she didn't want to eat it because it fell on her. You don't do that. Take responsibility for poor outcomes! She works in food service and I did at one time. Plates from appetizers should be cleared away. Waitstaff should know that. Customer is always right. She was not trying to get free food which she did not eat. They did take it off but we left there with a bad taste in our mouth. I don't think I will be going back here.

We went for Mother's Day and got seated on time with reservations. Our order was taken pretty quickly. Soup and salad took a half hour to come and wasn't that good. Lobser and shrimp bisque had no lobser or shrimp. Salad had brown pieces that couldn't be eaten. It took another hour for the food. I got their house specialty, Cedar planked Cod. I had to send it back. The fish was very dry and had an amonia smell/ taste to it. Manager was very nice and took it off the bill. Perhaps not the place to go on Mother's Day.

Utter disappointment. I ordered the shrimp trio thing and got 2 coconut shrimps, 3 stuffed shrimps but mind you only 1 of them was stuffed. And then i got a handful of poorly breaded salad size shrimps. This was a $20 plus entree? I could have done better at Red Lobster. My waiter matched the meal he was just as awful. He seemed overwhelmed with tables. Never went over specials, gave us this "come on and just order look". And then after our plates were cleared by the bus boy he brought the check. No offer for coffee or desert. Oh and Im still waiting on a refill of water. Never going back again! Gave it 2 stars because the Lobster Bisque was good. Thats all. Oh and the bread was swimming in butter. I used the butter to add some flavor to my big chunk of broccoli that was pulled right out of the water pot and placed on a plate without draining. This place sucks!!!

I wasn't sure about this place when we first walked in. We were barely greeted by two twenty something year old girls who clearly didn't want to be there. We got there at 5 (weekdays they have great three course $15.99 specials but you have to be seated before 5:30PM) once we sat down things got a lot better. Frank was our waiter and he was GREAT. We will ask for him next time. He was funny, attentive and had a great sense of humor. Portions were great, huge oysters and tasty food. My sister being lactose intolerant loved the vegan / vegetarian menus. We will be back for sure!!

Went to Snappers with my family. Wanted to hit the early bird from 5 to 6 but when we got there they had changed the early bird hour to 4 to 5. Saw a lot of seniors coming in for the early bird and walked out when they said the hour had changed. Not a good policy. They should have changed the hour on the internet and at least put a sign on the door. We stayed anyway and food was very good. Service was OK A little pricey but my family enjoyed their meals. Will probably go back and try for the early bird or go for lunch.

It must be the time of day... usually in the evening this place and food Is so good... I love the salmon salad house salad with apples grapes pecans and went back for it during the day ... I received a salmon Cesar salad when I sent it back for the right salad it came back with all the garnish and toppings under the mixed greens and salmon plated on top of that not appealing at all I was so disappointed. I just sent it back and got the check My son ordered the lobster tacos I kid not it was a tortilla with lettuce I couldn't even spot the lobster great should anytime of day and this was not great at all hopefully my next visit will be better :(

Rated based on food quality for price and not ambiance as it looks like a diner setup that has senior citizen specials running 24/7. Very helpful and delightful service. Started with the crab stuffed mushrooms which was made with real lump crab - very tasty and just enough frying to keep them supple and scrumptious. Known for their Cedar Planked Halibut which is a very clean light tasting fish and near perfect. The broiled scallops were perfectly cooked, smooth and soft with no rubber texture from over cooking. The fries were also perfectly fried for my taste, not too crunchy and not too soft. Great drinks at $5 a pop - very nice.

This is the seafood restaurant your parents and/or grandparents take you to when you come to visit them in Florida. Snappers is a moderately good seafood restaurant located off Congress Ave. in Boynton Beach, FL. Given it's close proximity to the many active adult communities, you can safely assume that the clientele here are on the older side. From about 3:00pm to about 7:00pm, Mercury Grand Marquis, Toyota Camrys, and Buicks fill the parking lot. The wait can be long enough that people will be sitting outside on benches, hands on their canes or bracing themselves with walkers. This is especially true during "snowbird season," as Snappers suddenly becomes a hotspot for dining. If you come after 7:15pm and eat at a normal time, you shouldn't have a problem getting a table. This place tends to have the "early bird" crowd. Also, the dining room is massive and is split into to parts, giving Snappers the chance to seat more people at once. Food is unremarkable. I've had crab legs, chowder, and other forgettable entries. However, my folks do seem to like it there, as do many other older people. Perhaps I don't fit the target demographic to like it? There are better choices for dinner in Boynton Beach, but when you just want seafood, Snappers is a safe bet. Just expect to listen to a lot of kvetching from your fellow diners.

i give this place a solid three stars because in some areas they are good, and in some areas are just meh. maybe its my new york city snobbery that really turned me off from the frontage of this place. it kinda looks like a takeout fish taco place, and i was extremely surprised that when i got in it was a wee bit more than a takeout place. (the sign just didnt do it well for me) then the decor. it reminds me of the little mermaid. im halfway expecting that the servers are going to do a song and dance number of "under the sea" but my (future) mother in law sets me straight - you are in south florida, these are the south florida colors. lets go to the food. im not a fan of salad. i think salad is not part of the food group, but they just made me forget that KFC cole slaw is the best thing ever (yeah, i know. kill me now. i only CRAVE for kfc cole slaw. i dont understand why) but their cole slaw was good, and i couldnt keep my fork off my (future) husband's plate of ceasar salad. and the GARLIC ROLLS SWIMMING IN BUTTER?! you betcha! its soo buttery good that you could almost expect one of the diners face to fall flat onto their plates due to a coronary. considering the median age of the diners when we went it was just expected. i love the fact that the beer is 2dollars and its like heaven! i could get drunk for 10 bucks? perfect! now on to the entrees - you see, their fish is good, and considering that they serve fish, its almost disheartening that their cuisine is mostly covering up the natural fish taste. most of the stuff i perused on the menu is breaded and fried, and there was one seared tuna dish that i was scared to order because it isnt a sushi place. the entrees arent disappointing; it is also nothing to write home about. its a good place to take your grandparents to as the patrons tend to be the 65+ age group. its not loud and the place is spacious. i will gladly come back if i get taken here again. i recommend it, but not very highly.

Great seafood, great service. The New Yorkers at the next table were typically offensive to the waiter, but we did not let them ruin our meal. Cedar-planked salmon was as flavorful and tender as a filet mignon, and my wife's fish and chips were near perfect. Will be returning again this week before we head North again.

The food here is consistently good. Try the cedar plank Halibut. Be aware that there are usually lines on the weekends and all throughout the winter season. In recent years they have been able to raise their prices and still attract crowds. This is not a place to go for an intimate dinner... its is large and noisy. Most of the customers are retirees from the neighboring communities.

    (3)
  • James T.

We had been going to Snappers for some years. The other night I had the plank halibut, which is their signature dish. I try to eat healthy dishes and was astonished to discover a glob of mayonnaise buried in the fish topping, something that was not revealed in the menu and that I don't think should be on the fish. I mentioned it to the waitress, who was horrified and asked the chef who said that they do this all the time. I mentioned my surprise to the young female manager and she was defensive and asked if I had revealed that I have an allergy to mayonnaise (which I don't). I then wrote twice to the owner/manager using the Snappers website email address and did not get the courtesy of a response. Perhaps I should consider not going back to Snappers!!! It's not the best seafood restaurant around but it's well attended because of its location -- and the food is not bad, but you never know what they adulterate their signature and other dishes with. If you want to be careful you may want to consider another restaurant.

Pleasantly surprised! No wait.... we made a reservation. My grandparents took myself and my boyfriend to dinner. The lobster bisque was creamy & dreamy just as it should be! I thoroughly enjoyed my maine lobster dish and the stuffing that came with it was INSANELY good! I tried my grandmother's Danish lobster tails, which were out of this world, and my boyfriend's macadamia encrusted snapper was quite fantastic. We would happily go back, but probably not just myself and my boyfriend. This is a perfect place for dinner with the grandparents! ;)

VEGANS BEWARE! The restaurant has changed ownership and no longer offers the vegan menu. In a pinch, the chef will make a vegan pasta dish (which I didn't try) or a vegan risotto (which is actually just white rice swimming in margarine, with a few vegetables and a bunch of pistachios bobbing around). My parents were satisfied with their seafood meals, but this place isn't the great vegan-omnivore compromise that it might once have been.

Came here for the first time last night for New Year's Eve dinner with my family. We had a reservation and were seated right away. They were on a restricted menu for the night but we were all still able to order options we were happy with. My 2 year old daughter got chicken fingers and the waitress put the order in ahead of the rest of our meals so that she could eat and be occupied while we waited for our food. Great dinner.

Fantastic swordfish tonight, perfectly cooked, moist and succulent. Great grilled veggies, and plenty of 'em. Waitress Amber fantastic and friendly. My first time. Don't care how old the patrons are as long as the fish is fresh and delish, which it was. Roll was decent, but not "to die for" but certainly better than average. Will definitely be back when I'm in the area. Ok, that's short and sweet but wanted to get this out there ASAP.

Had dinner with 2 other couples. Everyone was pleased. That's saying a lot, because this group would kvetch if anything wasn't good. The service, food, and portions satisfied all. Not the finest seafood I've had lately, but pretty darn good.

I give a full five stars because our experience was better than the others. We entered at 9:30 pm when it was empty. Our waitress was pleasant and prompt. Clam chowder was excellent. My steamed flounder was fresh and perfect; even better than several other high-end fish meals from earlier this week in the area. Prices reasonable. We'll definitely return.

I had no idea this seafood restaurant has vegan menu options. I came here with my sister to have dinner on the weekend. The line to wait was starting to build up, so we decided to sit at the bar. We took our seats and the bartender was on top of getting our drinks and orders. We started with some hummus and pita then added bruschetta to the order. Both were good. Then I received my house salad with ranch dressing. While eating the salad, I found a hair in the meal. The bartender asked if I wanted to finish it, I told him there was a hair in there. He apologized right away and took it. Next, our entrées come out. I received the vegan nut loaf. This is some type of tempeh (homemade) with veggies, mushrooms and mashed potatoes. The consistency of the loaf was mushy. It was not terrible, but I would not order it again. It certainly had a lot of flavor. My sister had the steamer basket. This is a tempeh on top of a wooden container, and underneath it was steamed veggies. Again, the tempeh was very mushy. However, it came with some asian sauce that was AMAZING! My sister told the bartender that she really did not like the steamer basket. She just couldn't get through the tempeh. The bartender came and switched it out for a pasta dish, which is on the vegan menu. She said it was delish. The bartender told me that the owner's wife makes the vegan options. I really give it to her for trying to add this selection at a seafood restaurant. Overall, the staff was really quick and friendly. The food was good except we just were not feeling the soft tempeh. I was not really digging the hair in my salad, which killed my appetite before I got the nut loaf.

An extremely extensive menu. A very large and busy place with reasonable prices. A good bread basket that included garlic rolls and a decent Caesar Salad as a starter. However, my main course, the macadamia encrusted snapper was a big disappointment. To me the crust was no different than as if they put bread crumbs on it and deep fried it. It was a large piece which is something that I will never complain about but the fruit salsa that topped it was so sparse that maybe it was good for a forkful or two. Our server started off great but towards the end we had trouble finding her although part of that may have had to do with the party at the next table that was paying with about 8 credit cards for 8 diners, and apparently the gentleman who computed the bill told the server a much too high amount for each card. Actually, I found that very funny. Despite it being just A-OK, I would probably give it another chance.

Overall the food is pretty good at Snappers but if you order the wrong dish you can be disappointed. They are known for their cedar planked halibut which is pretty good. I've had the broiled flounder and that is always good. I haven't enjoyed their stuffed fish. Please bring back the quinoa salad, that was great.

My husband and I went here on a whim while on a home finding trip for our relocation for his work. I do not eat seafood but my husband loves it! After days of back to back appointments he needed some great seafood. He ordered the Admirals Platter since it had a bit of everything in it. I ordered a Buffalo Wrap that was a special that night. The waiter also asked us if we wanted regular or garlic bread. We love garlic bread and oh man did we love this. It was like they took a cinnamon roll shaped bread and smothered it in delicious buttery garlic sauce. So amazing! It took everything inside us to not eat them because we were excited for our dinner. My husband loved his platter. Only thing he would change is that majority of his food came with this signature crust on it. It was a very good and tasty crust but it was on just about the entire platter. Didn't stop him from eating the whole thing and loving every bite though! I am not a huge fan of buffalo sauce but I wanted to give it a try. The sauce was a mild sauce, still a bit much for me but nothing that a little ranch dressing could fix. It was very juicy and the fries it came with were very well seasoned. All in all we loved it here. The atmosphere is wonderful and pleasant and you can actually have a conversation at your table without having to shout! We cannot wait to move because this place is just down the road from our new home! Also note make a reservation, we got there around 4:30ish maybe 5 on a Friday night, when we left there was a fairly large wait. People sitting inside and out, but its worth the wait either way!

The garlic rolls here are awwwmazing! Shrimp risotto is ridiculously delicious! I can go on and on about everything that I love about this place, or you can see for yourself.

Interesting vegan options for entree, appetizer and dessert! See my photo of the vegan nut-loaf dish. Friendly staff. The frozen mango-rita was delicious too. I really enjoy meals here and my non-vegan BF is warming up to it.

I am not sure if I am allowed to rate this place because I am not really into seafood. I was not very impressed by the overwhelming large menu. I really wanted something simple and it took forever to decide. The best part of my meal = the rolls. Be warned. The average age of patrons = 79 years old. If you are not an aarp member, everyone will give you dirty looks. I doubt that I will dine here without my grandmother.

OMG YUM!!!! Visiting my husband's grandmother for a long weekend, told her we wanted seafood, this is where she took us, and we couldn't have been happier with the selection. The garlic rolls are so good, the mashed sweet potato is the best side dish imaginable, and every sinful bite of the shrimp combo platter was worth it. I ate every bit, and was stuffed. My hubby got the mussels paso robles, and he scarfed it down and finished the entire dish. Very wide seafood menu, something for everyone. My only criticism would be that the staff could be a little more patient - Boynton is a retirement community, the staff should know better than to get frustrated with slow moving, hard of hearing seniors.

Fiancé and I decided to get dress and try something new. We love seafood and figured we couldn't go wrong. We saw the huge waiting area mainly elderly people and figured what the heck. The wait time was over an hour but gave us the option to sit in the bar area. We took the bar option of course. It was a little crammed but nothing horrible. The waiter served us water right away. I decided on the snapper and it was soooo good. Lack a little salt but I prefer it that way bcs you never know someone's preference. Sides I had sweet potato and broccoli( opted for healthy). The restaurant was a little pricey but it was a good try. I would definitely go back for some more snapper.

The service was awful... and we were there on a slow night. I had to ask 3 tines for a refill on water... took 20 min for a refill. The bread that was served to us was rock hard... I couldn't cut it with a knife and fork. Only good thing was the Caesar salad, and I hear thats hit or miss

Now I love seafood, so I've been on a hunt for a good meal, and haven't been quite pleased except for Old Keylime house. So when my boyfriend and I came to snapper's we were hoping for great things. Unfortunately, everything was expensive and the wait was long. We were hungry and tried to make the best of our evening but the meals fell short. I wish I could remember what we had but nothing was memorable. :(

We went to this Snappers on Friday night the 27th. it was a nice place even though they had the old main entrance locked and we had to walk all around the place to get in.We were brought to our table and introduced himself as our waiter. So far so good.we ordered our drinks,(water and unsweetened tea), I tell you this so you don't think we were tipsy Two of us ordered the catch of the day which was yellow tail Snapper served over a nice portion of garlic mashed potatoes. Mine was ordered as broiled and my friend "Asked if could have it grilled". The waiter said sure.My wife ordered broiled flounder with string fries and my friends wife ordered scallop which I should say now was according to her Delicious When or orders arrived, my whole fish was laying on the plate with a cup of mashed potatoes.(forget the bed of potatoes) the plating looked like a diner. My friends was a small fillet grilled, nothing like mine and my wifes french fries were like steak fries covered with an abundance of salt My friend questioned his order and was told grilled was differently prepared when he questioned the waiter he was told "that's the way it is' he denied he said he could have it grilled.we called the mgr. over and she began to defend the stupid waiter and told my wife "They really do season the fries and sorry they weren't shoe string. She offered to change them . The waiter told my friend he would replace it with the same as mine but it would take awhile. about ten minutes later he came back and told us "they ran out of Snapper"It was 8:30 PM on a Friday ,the restaurant was half full and they ran out of snapper!!! How does that happen in prime time in what is suppose to be a 4 star restaurant. My take is avoid this place or be very specific when you order and avoid John the waiter. . .

Snapper's was delish!!....I saw everyone on here was talking about how good the cedar planked halibut is and it was delish......highly recommended!!....And the fried pickles are amazing as well...The garlic rolls were good but swimming in oil and butter, so next time i would get the plain rolls....Definitely going back!

Ok, this is a mixed bag. We were a party of 4 last night at dinner. The hostesses and the service was worth 5 stars. The food was lackluster. The house salad was mediocre at best. The flounder was prepared perfectly, but was tasteless. On the upside, the coffee and desserts were terrific. We will try it again.

Honestly, I would have given this restaurant 5 stars if I didn't go there on a Saturday. It was my third visit and I'm not sure if they have a different cook on the weekends, but the portions were smaller and the dishes didn't taste the same. The first 2 times I went here was during the week and I got the seafood pasta and it was AMAZING, so amazing, I had to bring my brother on the second go-around. When I took another friend on a Saturday it was okay, but definitely not the same. My advice? go during the week- no wait, excellent service, and huge portions.

So, my sister and I decided to try this restaurant because we heard they have a vegan/vegetarian menu in addition to the seafood and meat that they offer. I have to give them credit for catering to non meat eaters so they can attract more people. We sat by the bar and the bartender was awesome and eager to be helpful. We ordered bruschetta and it was very good (they put the cheese on the side so my sister could have it). For dinner I did not like the first thing that I ordered which was tempeh. It was not prepared the way I am used to. They gave me a new order of pasta and vegetables and I should have ordered that in the first place because it was delicious. I was happy I got to have dessert as most places don't have vegan desserts. In addition to typical desserts using dairy and egg they also had sorbets for vegans. I would recommend them for sure!

We ate there with another couple and the lobster bisque had not one piece of lobster. The Mahi Mahi was dry and loaded with lots of Italian Bread crumbs. It was awful. I wanted to send it back or complain to the manager but I hate to be that way...Not a great meal for the money!!!

For my birthday my Dad told me he was taking me to a seafood place for lobster - turns out Snappers has coupons that give you a free birthday meal (which includes soup or salad) + dessert. It definitely felt like a place that caters to the retirement community (which figures that my Dad would know the place), but I did get the lobster tails and mashed potatoes which turned out to be pretty good. Would I go back? Probably not for another 40 years but its a decent place if you happen to be in the area.

If you want to hang out with the senior citizens of boynton...then this is the place to go. The decor isn't that nice and it doesn't seem like much of an upscale restaurant. However this is a delicious place, the oysters are amazing and huge! A great place to come an enjoy seafood and very vegetarian and vegan friendly as well which I love!!!! The only complaint I have is that we were a few minutes late for our reservation and the hostess was extremely rude to us and admonished us for being late, we almost walked right out the door because it put a huge damper on our first experience here but we decided to stay and atleast tryout the food!!!! The food was great so it made up for the obnoxious/rude hostess! I suggest this place starts hiring people with better work ethic who enjoy their job! Also our waitress was great but the only complaint I have was she kept coming over every second when we were trying to talk and enjoy our appetizer and then our dinner and just kept checking in on us every 5 seconds and disturbing our convo which got obnoxious!

The macadamia nut crusted fish was soggy and awful. Everything else that was ordered was mediocre. This just isn't very good. That said, your grandparents will love it! The portions are generous, the parking is plentiful, the decor is bland, the salads are iceberg, the bread is free, and the walkways are wide enough to accommodate walkers and mobility scooters.

My wife and I went there on a recommedation from a coworker and were not disappointed. Neither of us are vegans, but they have a large vegan menu. We tried the crab cakes and both had lobster. The food was wonderful. Good sized portiond and perfectly seasoned. The only issue we had was the decor. It was a little strange. Kind of almost the feeling of a "greasy spoon" diner with fine dining quality food. We will definitely visit them again.

Excellent. Lots of snow birds, but prices are higher than they would expect. We had Salmon, pasta, chicken.....all was great. No complaints. Server was super nice, very friendly. Place is very beautiful inside. Outside is,...well....it could use a facelift, if the strip mall landlord would allow them. Some natural woods and stone would look better than the drab stucco with red neon sign. Does not effect the quality of the food which was 4.5 stars!

I had an interesting experience last night at Snappers with 6 other people. The set up and ambiance of the restaurant is charming. It is a very large place yet still feels intimate. The bathrooms were clean and had cute little pictures and were themed as if we were at the beach. I thought that was a nice touch. When we first arrived at the table there was ice water already there with fresh lemon which was a great touch. Soon after we were brought one basket of regular rolls with butter and one basket of delicious garlic rolls. I could have gotten stuffed just off of those delicious things! There was a sign on the table saying if you give you text a number you get a free appetizer so we got some onion rings for the table. A nice big portion and they were very tasty. My Uncle order a mojito and found it to very delicious. My dad got iced tea and they put fresh mint in it which is a superb touch, At this point of the meal I was thinking "wow 5 stars!" But then it took a turn downhill from there... We got the salads maybe 15 minutes later so the rolls & onion rings had already started to fill us up. Each meal came with a a nice sized salad or coleslaw. My Dad enjoyed the cole slaw saying "it was good but not different from any other coleslaw" I had the ceasar salad which I enjoyed. I am actually not a fan of seafood but found the menu to still have tons of options. I wanted a chicken scampi so I got that but the waitress was a tad confused, but she was able to do it for me. By the time the food came (it took awhile and was not even that crowded) our food had sat making us not even that hungry. The big problem was my Mom's salmon (pistachio crusted) was legit raw in the middle. She sent it back and my uncle's GF had the same dish thought hers was cooked through but then found out that once she cut closer in it was not done also. It took awhile for them to re-cook it and then they brought the wrong side my mom had ordered. My Grandmother who locally is a Snapper's fan & goer was very upset. She claims it is always up to par and was super upset. I still had a nice evening it just would have been nice if the manager apologized about the salmons. They really should have offered a free dessert (not that we had room) or taken half off or something. Honestly just the manger coming out to say sorry would have been nice. The prices we paid for that salmon it should not have been raw! The waitress even told us that she normally does not work Mondays they had called her in- I think they were under staffed and not expecting so many people to come on a Monday night. The restaurant was fairly full of older costumers I'd say it just depends- My Grandma has had many wonderful meals here but I think last night they were just understaffed.

This place is huge and mediocre. It draws a large crowd but I'm not sure why. I had fried onion rings and baked scallops. Hubby had halibut - and he liked it. He also liked his clam chowder (however, he selected the restaurant so I'm thinking he was defending his choice). Brother had fried scallops. Like me, he thought they were rather tasteless. The salad was a bit brown and wilted. Service was in training but nice. Best thing: onion rings while they were hot.

I am very disappointed to see Snappers removed their vegan menu. There aren't too many places that offer a vegan menu. My boyfriend and I will no longer be going there.
